The team over at Ubisoft are starting to roll out the features promised earlier this year to cut down cheating and toxic behavior with their online tactical game, Rainbow Six Siege. Now they are making good on that progress as Y3S3.1 patch goes live and specifically targets teammates that go after their own.
This patch is the first since Year 3 kicked off with Operation Grim Sky and it's not just kicking ass and taking names, it's bringing down the hammer for those that seek to make the game less enjoyable for all.
According to Ubisoft's latest blog entry, 'The team killing penalty for a first offense will be adjusted from a kick to a 30 minute ban. Initially, if a player was team killed in Casual, the offender was kicked from the match. The same situation in Ranked would result in a kick as well, but also triggered an abandon penalty. This was confusing because it seemed as if the team killing punishment was different between Ranked vs Casual.'

This comes a week after Treyarch mentioned they were taking the necessary steps to avert teamkilling in their upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 'Blackout' mode. With more and more developers stepping up to the plate to take responsibility for their online titles, the gaming community is slowly but surely becoming more about the games and less about toxicity.

Ubisoft is rolling out a new team kill validation system on the Rainbow Six Technical Test Server, the developer explained in a recent blog post. The system allows players to either forgive the team killing player, or punish them, which has traditionally resulted in a ban on the team killer’s account. With this new validation system, players who choose to punish offenders will cause the Reverse Friendly Fire system to activate.
Reverse Friendly Fire is a system that actively transfers the offending player’s damage output onto themselves, instead of hurting the innocent player. To break it down a bit more, a player that has previously been validated for malicious actions will only be hurting themselves if they attempt to harm another player.

The politics of team killing are surprisingly complex, with YouTube personalities that are sponsored by Ubisoft using team kills as a way to make streams and uploads a bit more comical. This proposed change could strike a happy medium between all player bases, however, by giving players more control in how they play, and how they deal with team killing. In the coming weeks, we will see what the community thinks of the proposed changes.

While we see less of this behavior in Pro League, it is important to note what this change in the Test Server marks for Siege in the long run. Most significantly, the implementation of this new system shows that Ubisoft is now fully committed to the R6 community, both Pro and general player base.
We’ll see how Ubisoft deals with the feedback after the aforementioned TTS period comes to a close. Either way, this is a big sign of even bigger things to come for both the Pro scene, as well as the general player base.

Xcom enemy within cheats pc. Rainbow Six Siege is set to receive another patch this week, and this one makes adjustments to team-killing punishments and how they're given out. Additionally, Patch 3.4 fixes several bugs and makes some balance changes.
Team killing is now taken more seriously. For the first offense, players will be kicked from a match in Casual, while earning a 15-minute ban and a 50 percent renown penalty for 30 minutes in Ranked. Both Casual and Ranked players are punished the same after their first team kill. Second-time offenders get banned from matchmaking for 30 minutes with the ban period growing longer as players kill more team members.
Ubisoft said that suspension durations will be decided on a case-by-case basis and could end in a permanent ban, depending on 'the severity of the behavior.'
On top of that, Ubisoft has made several bug fixes including the ability to access the Casual menu while banned, players' weapons disappearing if their pickup animation is cancelled, and having to restart the game to see your Ubisoft Club challenge rewards.
The operator Pulse's gadget has received some balancing, which will allow him to have better visibility and receive more reliable information. For example, when enemies are detected, his gadget will display a ring on the spot where you saw them and will move off the screen if you look away. Prior to this, the ring would stay on the same section of the screen, regardless of where you were looking. Ubisoft says the balance change is intended to make it so players aren't caught off guard when using Pulse's gadget.
Patch 3.4 releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on July 13.

First things first. Rainbow Six: Siege is quickly becoming my favorite shooter this year. Do you miss the early days of Xbox 360 when Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six were the top shooters? Rainbow Six: Siege scratches the tactical itch.
Ubisoft is releasing a sizable update today with a host of fixes for Rainbow Six: Siege. One area the developers have been looking into is team killing. This includes intentional hostage killing. How bad is it? When Siege launched the percentage of matches with team killing sat at 0.9%. Now? It sits at 1.8%. Nowhere near the high of 7.8% during the beta, but “we still believe that this is an issue,” says Ubisoft.
The fix? An auto-kick feature for intentional team killers. The developer set several parameters that will kick someone who is team killing.
The fix brings its own issues. How do you decide what is an intentional team kill and what isn’t? My buddy shot me right in the face through a wall last night. Should he be kicked? Nope. The dumbass who blasts the hostage at the beginning of the round? Yeah, kick him. Ubisoft will adjust the parameters for auto-kicking as needed to find the sweet spot.
I say just kick anyone that team kills within the first 30 seconds of a match. Griefers aren’t a patient bunch.

Ultra-HD texture pack – Man, I wish all my friends had good gaming PCs. The Ultra-HD texture pack brings upgraded textures to characters and weapons. Those of you with 4K monitors? Siege will look even better. Everyone else should also notice better textures.
Syncing the HUD of Casual/Ranked playlists – Settings between the Casual and Ranked playlists will now be nearly identical. Here are the settings.
The only differences center around Kill Cam and Spawn Vote. Kill Cam is disabled in Ranked and Spawn Vote is only enabled on Ranked. Ubisoft is also working on a dedicated Hardcore playlist that will offer a more ‘realistic’ experience.
Nearly identical settings between Casual and Ranked is a smart move at the end of the day. Ubisoft explains their reasoning for the changes.
We are convinced that Casual and Ranked experiences should be as close and consistent as possible. Players of Casual matches should feel welcome to try a more ‘competitive’ playlist and get a rating for their performances, without having to re-learn or re-adapt to new settings. Similarly, Ranked players should feel compelled to launch in Casual, either to play without ‘ladder anxiety’ or just to try out a new strategy or Operator.
It’s hard to argue with that. Plus, the Hardcore playlist is coming for those who want to play more realistic matches.

Tired of getting randomly stuck? That’s just one of many bugs getting squashed in today’s update. Here are some more.
Gameplay Fixes
– Fixed a bug in which the Defenders could exit the building using a deployable shield during Preparation Phase. This was considered an exploit.
– Resolved an issue where bullet impacts would not be registered. – Fixed a bug where White Masks would take no damage when getting shot in the abdomen. – Tagging Attackers through the security cameras now properly identify Operator in the HUD. – Fixed a bug where the user could not switch cameras during the prep phase when his/her drone got destroyed. – Fixed a bug where the player could get stuck. – Fixed a bug where the camera would get turned upside down after rappelling. – Fixed a bug where the player got stuck after using the rappel feature. – Opening uPlay overlay now pauses the Situations’ Cinematics.
Level Design Fixes
– Fixed a problem where the drone would fall through the map at the start of the preparation phase.
– Fixed different bugs in which drones could fall off the map or teleport to random locations when thrown. – Fixed an issue where Twitch’s shock drone would fall through the map when launched from a prone position, backed up against a wall. Hit registration improvements
Server tick rate is one of the improvements. With the goal of improving positioning and shooting replication, we will be deploying a first update on PC in which the player position update rate is set to 60 times per second (vs. the previous 30). How to run msi as administrator.
Toxic interactions have long been a problem in Rainbow Six Siege. As the game has grown in popularity, so has the amount of trolling and harassment. As part of an ongoing effort to try to clean up this aspect of the game, today Ubisoft laid out some new changes coming to the game in year three.
Last month, the publisher said on Reddit it would be improving its ban system to better target players using racial or homophobic slurs. In today’s blog post they explained that punishments for offenders will range from a minimum of two day bans to a potential permanent ones. “Particularly egregious offenders can be permanently banned without a warning,” Ubisoft wrote. These changes are now in effect, while other changes won’t go into effect until the start of the game’s season three update, due out in the second half of the year. The later changes will include the ability to mute text chat of individual players, an automated chat filtering system to censor offensive words, and improvements to tracking players who abuse the game’s team killing mechanic.

Rainbow Six Siege allows friendly fire to make matches more intense and realistic, but some players use it to for griefing. Rather than take it out, the game’s developers have opted to work on deterring players from intentionally killing teammates. “The goal is to track long term offenders across multiple games and sessions that slip through the cracks of our current team kill detection system,” the developers wrote. Unlike the changes to chat, better monitoring of team killing is expected for season 2, which is just around the corner.

While these new features and punishments show the company’s committed to improving Rainbow Six Siege’s online atmosphere, some players have been critical of Ubisoft for not taking these steps earlier in the game’s life. “I’m annoyed it’s expected in S3,” said one of the game’s players on the Rainbow Six Siege subreddit. “It’s a change that will make a HUGE difference to me. And I suspect team killing rates will drop once this is implemented too.” Another player suggested they’d much rather have seen these attempts to fix some of the game’s underlying problems come sooner than new content like the recent Outbreak event.
Currently, the season two update is expected to be announced soon (they are usually quarterly) and will include a new map and two new operators, all based in Italy.
